So where did it all start?
As a music producer, I was desperate to release my own music on CD. Money was tight and I faced two bad options. Either order thousands of units just to get a professional product, or use short run services that produced CDs which looked amateur and poorly finished. Neither felt right.
So I decided to make my own.
I bought a small printer that could print onto one CD at a time and built my own custom setup to apply a glossy finish. I was pressing and printing my own music at home, and the results looked surprisingly good. Better than anything else I had seen at that level. That is when the idea clicked. Why not offer this to other artists?
I opened an Etsy store and almost immediately orders started coming in. It became obvious how many independent artists were looking for exactly this service. Behind the scenes, every penny went straight back into the business. Importing machines, building custom equipment, and spending months researching and refining methods to deliver factory grade results without factory minimums.
In February 2024, the DiskCrafters website was born.
DiskCrafters did not start with big loans, outside funding, or a corporate plan. It started with a broke musician who simply wanted to hold his own CD in his hands.
